So we did it!!!! We completed the Dingle Half Marathon in 2hours 39 minutes. With no prior running experience and 5 weeks to train we were pretty chuffed with that. We had an amazing couple of days with the most wonderful inspiring people. I’m so thankful to the lovely Jennifer Dollard of Today FM & Shane Lennon of #teammanuela for asking me to be involved this year. As you know I was running for an amazing charity; The Manuela Riedo Foundation. The Manuela Riedo Foundation Ireland was created to raise funds for awareness and prevention of sexual crime in Ireland. The foundation honours the memory, life and legacy of Swiss student Manuela Riedo who tragically lost her life in the city of Galway in 2007. I kept a short video diary of our time in Dingle which you can watch below. I’m still getting used to my new camera and finding my way around editing so bear with me while I get more of a handle on it 🙂

After the race I joined the gent that is Bob Conway for a live interview on Today FM, you can listen to the interview here

I also managed to take a couple of short videos on my phone, one during the race when we hit around 9.5 miles and just after we crossed the finish line. Check them out here;

Almost there!!!! ????????

Again huge thanks to everyone who gave up their time and talents to help me ‘Get Dingle Marathon Ready’ including celebrity chef Keith Kenny, 11 times marathon runner Billy Porter, personal trainers Suzanne Tyrrell & Kev Loughnan and to John, Teresa, Amy & Joni…our running team. Couldn’t have done it without you. Also a huge thank you to all of you guys for your amazing support and good wishes, it meant the world to both John & myself.

I’m going to continue running and I’m already looking for the next one. I’ve caught the bug 🙂
