Fundit Goal Reached – Still Time Left To Pre-order

Hey everyone,

As you probably know, Wednesday I reached my goal of  €6,500 on Fundit to help me release my new album thanks to the 166 funders. I have been receiving messages since looking to know if it’s still possible to pre-order the album & avail of the rewards and the answer to that is ABSOLUTELY!!!!

There is still just under 3 days left to pre-order & bag yourself some really great rewards. The project will be live until Monday 18th of November so grab them quick while there is still time!

Thank you thank you thank you to each and everyone who helped me get this album over the line.

I cannot wait for you all to hear it.

Fund it – ONE WEEK TO GO

Hey everyone,

Just a quick little update on my fundit project to let you know that there’s only one week to go!

After spending the past two years recording, mixing & mastering my new album, I made my decision to go the crowdfunding route in order to release it. After funding the cost of making the album myself I realised that as an independent artist it just wouldn’t be possible to continue without the help of crowdfunding and so three weeks ago I launched my project. With a target of €6,500 which will help towards the cost of manufacturing, marketing, PR, website, artwork & video costs as well as covering the costs of the rewards, postage & packaging I am thrilled to tell you that the project is 87% funded thanks to the 130 supporters.

So now there’s just one week left to get it over the line and you can help me with that by pre-ordering the album from the link below and also bagging yourself some other really cool rewards starting at just €10

Just follow the link https://fundit.ie/project/luan-parle–new-album

Help support my new album on Fundit

I launched Fund it October 21st to help me release my new album which is recorded, mixed & mastered. By pledging a reward you will help towards the costs of artwork, manufacturing, merchandise, marketing, PR, website & touring costs. We’re 35% there with just under 17 days to go, however Fundit is an all or nothing platform so If I don’t make the total amount that it will cost to release the album then unfortunately I get nothing so I’m hoping that you will all support me by pre-ordering the album & also checking out some other really cool rewards you can pledge for.

Thank you so so much to the 63 of you lovely folk who have funded already, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it.

One of my favourite tracks on the album is called ‘Never Say Goodbye’ which I have also decided to title the album. The song is a tribute to my dad who passed away in 2016 as it was with him I started this musical journey all those years ago.

Just click the link below & help me get it over the line

A little update….

Hey guys,

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend, so nice to see that the summer has returned in Ireland.
Current view right as I look out over my laptop…..blue skies….

I just wanted to check in with you all and let you know what’s happening.

As you all know by now I’ve been recording my new album over the past 16 months. It’s been such an enjoyable process and I’m delighted to tell you that it’s being mastered as I type. The album will be released first in Ireland in February 2020 and I will be announcing tour dates very soon. I’ve yet to decide on a title so if you have any suggestions please send them my way.

I’ll be launching a fundit campaign next month which will help me with manufacturing & marketing costs so I will be calling on all your help and support to see it over the finish line. It’s all super exciting and I really cannot wait to share this album with you.

I’ll be busy beavering away between now & the album release working behind scenes with all the album preparation. As well as that I’ll be popping in to see the gals at Virgin Media 1 for the Elaine Show to discuss all sorts of topics & of course working alongside IMRO and the department of education to continue our project we started earlier this year which will see songwriting being made part of the junior cycle curriculum throughout Ireland!!!! which is just HUUUUGE!!!!

I’ll be sharing weekly blogs so keep your eyes peeled…

Lots of love,

Luan x

It’s Been A Busy Few Months…..

Good morning folks,

Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven’t posted a blog in the past couple of months and for this I apologize. Life has been hectic to say the least but oh so great.

As you know I’ve been working on my new album the past year which is currently about to be mastered!!! I’m crazy excited to finally be at this stage and really cannot wait to share this with you all. A couple of weeks ago I flew to London to meet with some music industry folk & play the album. It was a nerve wrecking experience but I really feel so proud of this album and so blessed to have had such incredible musicians play on it that my excitement exceeded any nerves. Will keep you posted on that….

Something I have been extremely busy with these past couple of months is the ‘Me & My Music’ project, a pilot initiative which introduces songwriting to the Junior Cycle Curriculum. So here’s a little bit of back story…

In 2008 with the release of ‘Ghost’ I started doing songwriting workshops in secondary schools around Ireland. Shortly after I joined forces with IMRO Ireland to continue delivering songwriting workshops, some of which have resulted in 10 top hits with all proceeds going to charity.

For some time now I have been working alongside IMRO on this incredibly exciting collaboration with the Department of Education. I have just completed 18 songwriting workshops in schools all over Ireland
engaging with first year students & their teachers on the process of how to create and develop a musical artefact for Junior Cycle.

I didn’t have the option to study music in my school so to have this opportunity introduced to first year students is inconceivable. A monumental game changer which will hopefully be available to all secondary schools next year.

Another exciting project I was thrilled to be involved in was the launch of a new Irish music station PLAYIRISH, boasting 100 percent Irish Music.

For 10 years I have been a director of IASCA – Irish Association of Songwriters, Composers & Authors and in March we had some very exciting news to share.

PLAYIRISH aims to expose the best we have to offer via a series of curated playlists & specialist shows crafted by some of Ireland’s best known musicians, DJ’s & music professionals.

‘Play Irish’ is now on the Irish Radio Player App. Download from the App Store and check it out….you won’t be disappointed.

We have also introduced member benefits to our IASCA members. Sign up and get yours now at http://iasca.ie/

Monday I was invited to Powerscourt Estate to celebrate The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall’s visit Wicklow.

Meeting Prince Charles, shaking his hand & exchanging a few words was an unimaginable surreal experience.

For the event I wore a Littlewoods Ireland vbyvery lace prom dress or as I like to call, a garden dress :)

You can shop the look here

This July Clive Barnes & I will be hitting the road again and have some great venues lined up to play.

July 4th, we play Bob’s Hideout, a brand new music venue in Durrow Co Laois, July 20th we play the Ballyporeen Music Maker Festival Co Tipperary & July 27th we return to one of our favourite Irish Festivals in Heinola Finland. For further information and to book tickets for all these shows visit http://www.luanparle.com/shows/

Next Thursday May 30th I’ll be back on the Elaine Show on Virgin Media One for a cuppa and a chat with the girls. I’ll of course remind you closer to the time.

That’s all for now folks…

Much love,

Luan x

Live Performance on Newstalk – Listen Here

Hey guys,

Over the weekend I had a perfect excuse (although I never need one) to visit my beautiful hometown of Wicklow for a very special live broadcast from Wicklow’s Historical Gaol.

On Saturday morning I joined the lovely Bobby Kerr for a chat and live performance of ‘Free’ from my album ‘Free’ for a live broadcast of ‘Down To Business’ on Newstalk.

Photographer Michael Kelly was on hand to take a few pictures which I have posted below.

I was so thrilled to meet one of my childhood idols on the morning who was in attendance on the morning….Mr Don Conroy. I loved watching Don’s show on RTÉ 1 as a child so it was such a treat to get to meet the man himself, and what a gentleman he was and happy to pose for a snap.

Looking after us all so well with tasty treats and endless cups of tea and coffee were Eoin and Blathnaid from The Jailers Rest. If you’re stopping by Wicklow be sure to pop in to The Jailers Rest for lunch. It’s one of my favourite places, you won’t be sorry. Try the Jailers special…it won’t disappoint.

Huge thanks to Littlewoods Ireland for decking me out in this gorgeous little outfit. Shop the look at www.littlewoodsireland.ie
