Me and My Music was developed in partnership with IMRO and the Department of Education to bring songwriting into the Junior Cycle Music curriculum in Irish secondary schools. The programme placed creativity, collaboration and original composition at the heart of music education, giving students the opportunity to work alongside professional songwriters while creating and performing their own original music.
Luan played a key role in delivering the programme, facilitating songwriting workshops in secondary schools across Ireland and helping hundreds of students discover their own creative voices through lyric writing, melody, collaboration and performance. The initiative encouraged young people not only to study music, but to experience the process of creating it, building confidence, communication skills and self-expression along the way.
Luan also designed and delivered professional development workshops for music teachers, equipping them with practical songwriting techniques and creative facilitation skills that they could continue to use in their own classrooms. By empowering teachers with the confidence and tools to embed songwriting into music education, the programme created a lasting legacy that extended well beyond the workshops, supporting both student learning and teachers’ own creativity and professional practice.
