Train to Sligo – Five Lamps Arts Festival

The event will have its own designated coach where Luan Parle will facilitate the songwriting workshop during the train journey to Sligo. You’re encouraged to bring your instruments along, but if you don’t have one, that’s totally fine too!

The train arrives to Sligo
Upon arrival in Sligo, you’ll have free time (4 and 1/2 hours approximately) until the journey back to Dublin. The station is conveniently located near the city centre, offering numerous attractions to explore in Sligo.

02:00 PM – 03:00 PM

Walking Tour (Optional)
Join John O’Flynn for a walking tour through Sligo’s rich history. Starting at the WB Yeats statue, the tour will explore landmarks like the 19th-century Town Hall, the Famine Monument, Sligo Courthouse, and the 13th-century Abbey ruins. You’ll cross the John Fallon footbridge to visit the Model arts centre, uncovering stories of the town’s past along the way. This optional tour is included in the event price. After the tour you will have a bit of time to either visit the Model or get a coffee somewhere before the train back.
