Train to Sligo 2026 is a unique one-day songwriting experience, presented as part of the Five Lamps Arts Festival, where participants travel by train from Dublin to Sligo, collaborating to write one original song during the journey. Welcoming everyone from complete beginners to experienced songwriters, the project celebrates creativity, connection, and shared storytelling. After arriving in Sligo, participants are free to explore the town through guided walking tours, traditional music sessions, local history, cafés, and shops before boarding the return train. The day concludes with an informal performance, where participants share their own original songs, creating an inspiring celebration of songwriting and community.
