IMRO | Taking Songwriting to the Classroom

This video captures an IMRO Songwriting in Schools workshop led by Luan Parle, giving students a unique opportunity to experience the creative process of writing and performing an original song.

As part of IMRO’s nationwide education programme, secondary school students meet a professional songwriter to gain first-hand insight into the realities of the music industry, from the creative process to the rewards and challenges of a career in music. Through open discussion, students are encouraged to ask questions, explore songwriting techniques, and discover how ideas develop into finished songs.

Working together, the group writes an original song from scratch before performing and recording it by the end of the workshop. The programme aims to inspire creativity, build confidence, and encourage young people to see songwriting as an accessible and powerful form of self-expression.
