Originally released as More Than a Ghost under Sony Music in 2002, the song was later re-recorded and renamed Ghost for Luan Parle’s critically acclaimed 2006 Sony Music album, Free. The track became a Top 10 Irish hit, spending three months in the Irish charts, and was the most played Irish single on Irish radio the year of its release. It also featured on the 101 Irish Hits compilation, introducing the song to new audiences. The atmospheric music video was filmed at the historic and reputedly haunted Charleville Castle, Tullamore, County Offaly, providing the perfect backdrop for the song’s haunting atmosphere. In 2008, Luan recorded an Irish-language version of the song, Taibhse (the Irish word for “ghost”), which was released on the Ceol ’08 compilation album, a No. 1 album in the Irish compilation charts and later released on Ceol ’10.
