01 - My Something Beautiful
Verse 1
You needed time,
And I would have given you forever,
And waited till you felt the same as I did,
And now wonder why,
If I was more like her,
Would you have maybe given us a try,
Used some silly line,
That you'd be my something beautiful

Chorus
We'd fly o'er the sea's and mountains,
The city streets stroll hand in hand,
Steel kisses like there's no one watching,
And I'd wear your wedding band,
We could have been so good together,
Signed our names in the golden sands
Now only in my dreams we love,
Cause only in my dreams we can

Verse 2
Looking for signs,
And waiting for time to be your healer.
And hoping that one day you'd change your mind,
But you were too blind,
To see that we'd be something beautiful

Chorus
We'd fly o'er the sea's and mountains,
The city streets stroll hand in hand,
Steel kisses like there's no one watching,
And I'd wear your wedding band,
We could have been so good together,
Signed our names in the golden sands
Now only in my dreams we love,
Cause only in my dreams we can

We could have been so good together,
But we never really began,
Now only in my dreams we love,
Cause only in my dreams we can
Now only in my dreams we love,
Like only in my dreams we can
02 - Running In Circles

Verse 1
I watched you stumble cross the floor,
With a look I'd seen before,
It made me shudder through my bones that cut straight to my soul,
You didn't see me standing by,
You didn't hear me when I cried,
And when our house of cards came tumbling round like faith knew it would, like only it should

You ran in circles and I fell down

Chorus
Now I, need something more.
Than you can give.
Time played all it's cards,
There's nothing left to save, but you're no longer mine to save

Verse 2
All I needed was some line,
One I'd heard a thousand times,
And now you think that everybody up and left you behind,
Well little darlin' of mine,
You'll pour another glass of wine
And watch the sunrise as you vow to keep promises you can't, promises you can't

Cause you'll run in circles and I'll fall down

Chorus

03 - Change Your Mind
Verse 1
Small town talk,
On the corner of every street,
Tales of who did what and where,
In the morning summer heat,
And everyone,
Has a story they want to sell,
Each trying to outdo the other,
In this smalltown hell,

Bridge
And I,
Can't breath that air no more,
It's time,
To say goodbye and shut the door

Chorus
I've been trying to change your mind,
I can't stand it leaving you behind,
Although I know she's good to you,
And I can see without me you're just fine,
But everytime I'm standing close to you,
Something in your eyes, tells me you're still mine

Verse 2
And to everyone, it seemed like we almost had it all,
But I chose freedom, you chose love,
Both searching for something more

Bridge
What would it change,
If we had just one more day,
Was it just bad timing,
Or would we, let it slip away

Chorus
I've been trying to change your mind,
I can't stand it leaving you behind,
Although I know she's good for you,
And I can see without me you're just fine,
But everytime I'm standing close to you,
Something in your eyes, tells me you're still mine

Chorus
I've been trying to change your mind,
Never thought I'd leave you behind,
Although I know she's good for you,
And I can see without me you'll be fine,
But everytime I'm standing close to you,
Something in your eyes, tells me you're,
Yes something in your eyes tells me you're still mine

04 - Falling For you
Verse 1
Whispers in the shadows,
Keep me searching all night,
The darkness never brightens,
The sun it never shines,
And time it moves so slowly,
And I'm feeling so blue,
I'm falling a little further,
I'm falling for you,
Please help me I'm falling,
In love with you

Verse 2
We live in seperate worlds,
We're so far apart,
I'm on the sea of tears now,
And it's bound to break my heart,
Cause you're someone elses darling,
And it breaks me in two,
I'm falling a little further,
I'm falling for you,
Please help me I'm falling,
In love with you
Please help me I'm falling,
In love with you
05 - Fare Thee Well
Fare thee well, my true love story,
Fare thee well, my true loves gone,
He left me for another lover,
While I long for pastures gone

Verse 1
The autumn comes and leaves start falling,
All the bright shades turn to brown,
At night the chilly wind starts calling,
Blowing cold, across my brow

Chorus
Fare thee well, my true love story,
Fare thee well, my true loves gone,
He left me for another lover,
While I long for pastures gone

Verse 2
20 years have passed so freely,
Since you stole my time away,
But I a foolish girl now greying,
Still wait in vain, still wait in vain

Chorus

While I long oh while I long
06 - Never Say Goodbye
Verse 1
I closed my eyes lastnight,
To feel what it was like,
When you were here,
When you were here,
Before your arms grew thin,
And pain etched on your skin,
Just to hear you laugh,
Oh how you did laugh

Chrous
A year has gone so fast,
And I'm finding still,
That I can't let you go,
I guess I never will,
I'll never say Goodbye

Verse 2
I folded up your clothes,
Remembered times of old,
Life goes so fast,
It goes so fast,
Some days I long to dream,
And your voice just carries,
Back o'er the years,
I'll cry my silent tears

Chorus
I feel you everywhere I go,
I see you in the faces of,
The people that I know,
Cause I'll never say Goodbye,

Chrous
A year has gone so fast,
And I'm finding still,
That I can't let you go,
I guess I never will,
I'll never say Goodbye
I'll never say goodbye

07 - The Ghost of Martha
It was a dark December evening,
Not a cloud in sight,
With thoughts of not returning,
Driving off into the night,
Tears so freely flowing,
Burning Up my eyes,
I could hear the sound of nothing,
And it echoed in my mind

I drove the lonesome highway,
And then I saw her standing there,
Her gaze so wild and wiley,
The wind was blowing in her hair,
I stopped,then pulled on over,
She gave me such a smile,
And candidly leaned forward,
Said I've been waiting quite a while

Chorus
Patiently waiting,
Patiently waiting,
Quite a while

She told me many stories,
As we drove from town to town,
Her ivory skin was dazzling,
And her eyes the deepest brown,
In the air there was a silence,
That I'd never known before,
She said her name was Martha,
Before getting out the door

I drove a little further,
Then I stopped to buy some gas,
Told the attendant of my story,
And he looked at me with ghast,
He said that Martha died while waiting,
For her true love by the road,
One night while they were courting,
He was delayed or so it goes

Chorus

I still see her in the doorway,
Her eyes so wide and wild,
Waiting by the lonesome highway,
She'll be waiting quite a while
08 - Come To Me Darlin'
Verse 1
Come to me darlin' and lay down your head,
The fires slowly dying,
So much left unsaid,
Our times getting shorter now,
But my dearest don't weep,
You've been my forever and forever you'll be

Your hair a little greyer now and the lines on your face,
Tell a story of romance no one can replace,
And we've had our troubles,
But we met them with grace,
I long for forever but I'm losing the race

Verse 2
So place your lips on mine, while I close my eyes,
Cradle me gently, and stay by my side,
Sing to me softly just one last time,
As I reach for the stairway and I start my climb

Our times getting shorter now,
But my dearest don't weep,
You've been my forever and forever you'll be
09 - Cocaine Corner
Verse 1
We used to laugh, with the wind on our backs,
Down the treck by the old riverside,
Winter would pass, the summer would rise,
And we'd dance into the moonlight,
Talking for hours about all of our plans,
The future blindingly bright,
Where have you gone to my beautiful friend,
It breaks my heart

Chorus
To see you in this cocine corner,
Your eyes red and shaking all over,
Your pale face so thin with an overdone grin
As the new guy plays a stormer

Verse 2
Eveyone said, you'd make it some day,
I watched from the sidelines with pride,
I can still hear the crowd as you filled everyroom,
But you lost yourself when the band died,

Chorus
Now you're stuck in this cocine corner,
Your eyes wide and shakin' all over,
Rolling your ten with an overdone grin,
As the new guy plays a stormer

The curtians come down now,
You stole the show and now it's stolen you,
It's taken everything, and you were blinded,
Now the lights gone out in you

Chorus
Standing in cocine corner,
Your once shining eyes so much colder,
Rolling your ten not knowing where you've been,
Cause you can't see where you are going,

Now you're stuck in you cocine corner,

Rolling your ten with an overdone grin,
As the next guy plays a stormer

10 - Lonley World

I'm counting down the days and the hours till I'm on that morning train,
I dream about it day and night sometimes I feel I'm going insane,
I walk these streets for miles and miles, where no one know's my name,
It doesn't feel like home in a lonely world
I hear the sound of a churchbell ring as it echoes across the land,
Outside the gates a young girls crying, holding her momma's hand,
It take's me back so long ago, from where I stand,
It doesn't feel like home in a lonely world
I walk these streets for miles and miles where no one knows my name,
No where feels like home in a lovely world

I long to hear my fathers voice when he tells me my skirts to short,
And runs the boys away from the door when they come calling to court,
If I could live my whole life through, I'd live it in that town
It doesn't feel like home in a lonely world

I walk these streets for miles and miles, where no one knows my name,
Nowhere feels like home in a lonely world
It doesn't feel like home in a lonely world
It doesn't feel like home in a lonely world
